My Favorite Movies
These are films that succeed in making me laugh, think, and cheer no matter how many times I watch and continue to watch them. A mix of great acting, directing, and all around filmaking equals these great films.

The Breakfast Club (1985, R)
This is one of my favorite and one of the perfect movies. It's funny, has a lot of heart, great acting, cool story, everything! It's just a great movie. Acting is wondeful by Nelson, Gleeson, and Sheedy, everyone else isgood too, their just not my favorite characters. The scene where their all sitting in a circle and talking about everything and yet nothing is the best. Everyone captures their characters so well at those moments and you see what amazing acting they all have. John Hughs story and direction are perfect and thisstands as being his best film in my opinoin. This is just a movie that I'm able to watch over and over again and highly recommend it to everyone. |

Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980, PG)
Ask almost any STAR WARS fan, "which STAR WARS movie is the best?" and you'll most likely get this movie as the answer. What makes it the best? Is it Kershner in the directing chair? That twist that no one in the 80s saw coming? Yoda? Boba Fett? The Han/Leia romance? The cliff hanger ending? |

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006, PG-13)
A sequel that lives up to the original! The only problem I really have with this movie is there are some comedic moments that just upset the moment of the film and just don't fit in at all. Their also questionably funny as well. |

Raiders of the Lost Ark (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark) (1981, PG)
Awesome movie! It's the perfect adventure movie that is a great send up to the older films only better. The stunts are amazing, especially the stuff on the truck! It's so cool, because you have no CGI there, so it's even more impressive. |

Wanted (2008, R)
This movie simply blew me away and became an instant favorite and my favorite film of 2008 (followed closely by WALL*E. Go figure. Anyway...). The acting was amazing and I instantly became a fan of both McAvoy and Jolie. They both had great chemstry together and worked well onscreen. Freeman brings a certain amount of class and sophistication to any character he plays and as the leader of The Fraternity it is no differant. He breaks some acting molds I kind of had him set in, especially towards the end of the movie when he takes an interesting character turn that will surprise most people. Kretschman and Common also did a fine job with their scenes as well. |

The Big Store (1941, Unrated)My favorite Marx Brothers film because it has the best of all they've ever done. The best film musical performance from them when Chico and Harpo play the piano, mixing skill and humor making it entertainment every time I watch it. Groucho's one liners with the amazing and never tiring Dumont (no matter how many fioms she was in with them and always playing the same character). And the amazing chase scene throughout the store through the end. |

Sin City (2005, R)
Maybe I've seen this movie too many times, but it's starting to seem a little over-dramatic sometimes. And yet I can still manage to enjoy it. |

Holes (2003, PG)
A great movie that follows the book very closely. It's one of my favorites for a perfect story, cast, and the pacing of the movie itself. |

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001, R)
Hard to believe they could come up with enough funny stuff to fill an entire movie on these two, but Smith did and suceeded! It's hilarious, one of Smith's funniest movies, and you can't help but smile during the whole film. |
|
| 11 |
Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003, PG-13)
Amazing! Depp and Rush steal the show here, the story though simple is fun just the same. The real treat are the secondary characters who are all brilliantly protrayed and make this movie what it is! Fanatastic ship to ship battles and sword fighting, amazing special effects, and brilliant filming make this a MUST see! |

Dogma (1999, R)
A hilarious movie for anybody, unless your easily affended when it comes to religion then you'll want to stay away. Still kudos and three cheers to Kevin Smith for making a great film the raises a lot of questions about religion and man kind, without even trying. For being a comedy Smith has amazing insight into human nature, giving us real-like characters in memorable moments. Kudos to everyone involved, because they made a genuinely funny film, that quietly makes a few interesting points. Smith is a great actor, director, writer, and will hopefully make even more great films. |

Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End (2007, PG-13)
This one seems to have the same feel as the first and doesn't suffer from the silliness the second one had at awkward times. Still it was obviously rushed through in order to have a completed script, cause of some of the obsurd bits and a slight disappointing Davy Jones story. But you need to see this film multiple times to get it and get the rightfeel for the characters and you'll understand why they do what they do. That I think is what the writer's captured perfectly. Who their characters are. After a couple showings you'll learn to like it, because there are so many good parts and a massive fight scene at the end that takes you breath away! The last 30 minutes of the film are the best and have the right feel and fun to the whole series. |

Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975, PG)
This comedy masterpiece is the best example of the right amount of every type of comedy can be made into one film. A great and entertaining if you like shear lunacy sometimes and great comeidic timing the next. The acting is great by all, especially since all the cast play multiple parts, it's sometrimes hard to tell whose who. The jokes are great and keep being funny till the end, though sometimes you have to listen closely, because most of the time the jokes come at you fast and in long conversations. This cult classic lives up to it's hype and you'll laugh out loud or just shake your head sometimes, even though it includes quite a bit of british humor the comedy is still easy to laugh at. I also suggest you get the DVD, because the interviews, behind the scenes, and other bonus features are just as funny as the film. That's my review, so go away you sons of a silly persons before I taunt you a second time. |

The Frighteners (1996, R)
Before LOTR and KING KONG we had Jackson making these kind of movies. Good horror/comedies! If you've seen LOTR or KK then you'll recognize a lot of the filming style he uses here and it works well on his story telling method. The story is imaginative and well told with well written and performed characters. Fox does a great job with his role and shines in several scenes! Other cast memebers do well especially the actor's playing the ghosts. The movie has some mildly funny aspects, but only a few laugh out loud moments. Others you'll chuckle at but still enjoy. Some good frightening moments and shocks and are all filmed, timed, and scored well that increase that aspect. To some it might move a tad slow, but the pace seemed well to me without slowing down. It's a movie to wacth to be scared and amused at the same time which makes this movie gold. |

Stranger Than Fiction (2006, PG-13)
An entirely differant movie then what Ferrell usually does, and shines in his role. He proves he can do more then comedy and should. The acting is done amazing by all especially Ferrel and Thompson. The story is imaginative and thought provoking, very will written. Visually it's very mind abosbing especially by what the filmakers call the G.U.I., which is what Crick's thought are on screen. Their fun to watch and entertaining with what they do with them. The movie moves a little slow, but has it's funny moments, it's touching moments, and it's sad moments. Everything combines into an amazing story and a very entertaining piece of fiction. |

The Movie Hero (Frame of Mind) (2003, Unrated)
I love this movie, because it appeals to the ultimate movie lover. The acting is good, the story unique, and the feel of the film makes it enjoyable. It's a tad slow storyline wise, but the creativity of the story is what I like about it. So like this movie says...your audience is watching, so play the hero. |

Stuck On You (2003, PG-13)
A brilliant comedy with heart and humor! Everything from the acting, to the story, to the jokes is all golden! I actually laughed out loud during most of this movie, it was that good. Kinnear and Damon play perfectly off each other and are very believable at being brothers. Cher also shows her great comediac talent and is hilarious as herself. The cameos are great here as well, even though they are all brief. The story is well written, being both funny and dramatic at times. This is one of the best feel good movies, that actually makes you feel good. |

Help! (1965, G)
Absolutely brilliant! Just as funny as Hard Days Night, nut far more sillier. The acting is great, even by the Beatles themselves who look like they have fun on screen and are naturals. The supporting cast also do a great job providing their own great comediac moments as well. The cool thing is how they fit the songs so seemlessly into the film that their not distracting at all and don't change the feel of the film at all. The pacing is great and moves quickly and seemlessly through the whole movie. It almost moves to fast and you miss some of the funny things that come out of The Beatles mouths. Still it's one great joke after another and doesn't quit till the end of the credits. It's a classic and still funny after the umptiteenth time I've seen it. So if your down...get HELP! |

I, Robot (2004, PG-13)
My favorite Will Smith film thus far that has an amazing story that is both sci-fi, supense, thrilling, and humorous around every turn. The special effects are fantastic and flawless in every way. It's a good thing this story is only suggested by Asmov's book, because I'm pretty sure their completely differant. The parts about the wink though will be one of my favorite movie moments. Smith is a phenominal actor and shows it when he's telling the story of the accident.LaBeouf brief moments are also enjoyable as he sets himself up for leading man statis. McBride, Cromwell, Tudyk, Moynahan all give strong performances as well. Is it an realistic telling of the future? Could anyone actually know? That detective is the right question. |

King Arthur (2004, PG-13)
It's the now classic Bruckheimer production set to the amazing musical score of Hans Zimmer. Director does an awesome job capturing the characters and feel of what's going on in the movie. I defintly want to see more from this guy. Have to say the Director's Cut is pretty intense and satisfying. Non of the story is lost and the movie isn't really dragged on at all. Acting is amazing here with beautiful performances by Owen, Winstone, Mikkelsen, and Gruffud. Knightly is touch and go though. She just seems a little stiff in her performance next to every one else. The fighting is very well played, with camera shots not being too blurry, so you can't tell what's going on, but your able to see plenty of detail and all the realism. For a great period action film aim your sights on King Arther and don't feel afraid to buy the DIRECTOR'S CUT. |

Hero (2004, PG-13)
An amazingly visual movie that takes a surprising turn towards the end. Just when you think you know what it's about it goes in a differant direction. I do suggest you watch this one with subtitles because the voice overs don't do it justice. The fights will look a little bit familar, but there is enough differance in style that it manages to stand on it's own making each fight unique. The scene on the lake is one of my favorites except for the music is a little...ear piercing I'll say. My favorite scene would be the fight in the golden forest between the two girls. The coloring used is great. Story wise it moves a tad slow after you've seen it more then once, but the "twist" is a nice change of direction and it all comes together at the end. Li, Zhang, and Leung stood ouit the most and I hope to see Leung and Zhang in more movies. This film defintly proves that there are Heros on both sides of wars. |

Bubba Ho-Tep (2003, R)
How do you describe a film that is indescribable? This film is funny, touching, scary, suspenceful, and dramatic all rolled into one! Topped off with susational performances by Campbell and Davis it's just plain fun absurdity to watch! Campbell is very believable as Elvis and as an old man too which takes some skill to not look laughable. Davis also gives a believable performance as the black JFK and is the perfect paitring to Campbell. The scarab effects kinda suck and it moves a tad slow yes the ending is worth the wait. It's one of those lesser known films that deserves a lot more attention. So thanks to the filmakers for this one. Thank you very much. |

I Am Legend (2007, PG-13)
Will Smith's latest and greatest is just that, one of his greatest. His acting stands out the most in this movie, because it is superb! The final scene in the video store is him at his best and impressed me the most. The story is cool and moves a little slow at times, but when it comes to the last hour, everything moves fast. The scares and jump out of your seat moments are many, but sometimes far between. Still it managed to scare me plenty of times. A lot of people hate the ending, but it's one of my favorite moments in the film. A great way to end it. If your expecting Smith's newest action packed movie, then you'll probably be disappointed, because there is more story and scare in this one. In my opinion, this movie has made Smith into a legend. |

The Benchwarmers (2006, PG-13)
A film that reaches it's target audience succesfully. That audience being teenage boys. The humor is great with a fine mix of slapstick, and word play. The acting is great by all around especially Schneider, Spade, and Heder. They play great off each other and are hilarious when they interact. The story is cool and an interesting twist on the underdogs win the big game. The movie moves nice and fast with the comedy never eally stopping. So if you like stupid comedys then watch this because you won't stop laughing. |

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005, PG-13)
The 4th is by far the best of them yet in my opinion and after seeing the 5th, their only getting better. The stoy, though notably cut down from the book, still excells, but for it be fully clear then it's probably best you've read the book. If you haven't read the book then you won't be to lost, it just helps. Radcliff steps up his game here and proves he can do more then be the cute little kid, even though he still is not very good at faking tears. Watson also excells and stands on her own in this film with all the screen time she has, she does a great job. Grint still stands as an okay actor with a few rough spots here and there. The teachers provide great performances again witha noteworthy one from Gleeson who is by far the most fun to watch. The champions give good performances for what the little screen time their on, with Pattinson giving the best performance thankfully. The special effects are bigger and better, but the less important effects suffer. Meaning Hagrid's giant stand in suffers, during somewhat closeup shots. They reveal that it defintly isn't Coltrane and distracted me a lot. Still the most complaints about this movie is that there was a lot left out from the book. Yes I was disappointed when I didn't see some scenes I was looking forward too, but still the movie can stand on it's own and surpasses the ones before it. So the filmakers could have made a four hour long dog of a movie, but instead of going with what was easy, they did what was right. A film , that yes is trimmed down, but holds your attention and moves at a great and fun pace. |

Dawn of the Dead (2004, R)
Finally a remake that is worth seeing! Alright I've never seen the original, but this movie is great! Great acting, awesome story, special effects, and music. I'll explain the music part soon. Acting is well done by all, especially the zombies, who are amazingly creepy and frightening! Polley delivers a few lines that seem out of place with how she says them, but other then that gives a great performance. The story is good and believable even though it never tells you how the whole plague starts, frankly you don't reall care or need to know. It also has characters you care about which is very rare in the horror genre and they all have deep character to them, without being hollow and bland. The effects are good for you gore fans, with plenty blood and guts. One scene is a little shabby, but you'll be satisfied with everything and will jump or be creeped out on several occasions just when you think it's slowing down. Now as for the music it was choosen very well. The songs in the background, beginning credits, and end credits all work great with the movie and make it even more enjoyable! The songs are one of my favorite bits about this movie along with good characters, and well paced action/story. |

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989, PG-13)
Indianna Jones returns for another(and greater) adventure. This movie out does the previous two because not only storwise, but cemestry between characters as well. Ford and Connery are great together and a lot of fun to watch. Their exchanges are genuinly funny. The effects aren't to numerous here and are ok. A disappointing shot when a character falls into a chasim though always bugs me when I see it. The acting is well done by both major and minor players. It's well shot and doesn't move slow very often. My favorite out of the 3(soon to be 4) and I suggest you watch because another great thing about it is you don't have to have seen the first two to know what's going on. It defintly worth your time! |

The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King (2003, PG-13)
A fitting ending to Jackson's epic tale! Again the story here is beautifully written and visualized. The characters are flawlessly performed and every moment is touching in it's own way. Still if you can't sit still for long movies, haven't seen the first two, or want nothing but epic battles(which you'll get) then you might want to stay away, but still check it out. You won't regret it. |

The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers (2002, PG-13)
A great middle film that is on the same level as the first and last. Great special effects, especially Gollum who is an amazing work of CGI/motion capture. The story is great even though it doesn't have EVERYTHING from the books, if you want more then watch the extended edition. Has a lot more and is just as good! Acting is superb! Astin is the best but Serkis, Wenham, Urban, Ottom, and Boyd all give good performances as supporting characters. And that is just the supporting cast! Mckellen and Morttensen are amazing! Bloom and Ryes-Davis work well off each other and give us some great stuff to laugh at and enjoy. The Helm's Deep scene is phenominal and is a great battle scene! However Sam's speach at the end is my favorite part of the film and is delivered with perfection. If the length of this film doesn't scare you then it's well worth the watch, because it will draw you like the ring and won't let go until the very end. |

O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000, PG-13)
An interestin interpretation of Homer's THE ODESSY, but still entertaining. The story is fun and leans you entertained while moving at a good pace adding humor and wit in for good measure. The acting is well done by all, especially by Clooney, Turturro, and Nelson. The music is fun and fits well into all the right places and adds to the film. My only complaint about the music is they sing "You Are My Sunshine" way too many times! It has the feel of an indie film and that makes it all the better. This movie is good, clean, entertainment and well worth checking out wherever you find it. |

The Strangers (2008, R)
I haven't been unerved this much since 1408. A great scary movie that gives you a satisfying ending where few succeed in doing. Acting is great The "Strangers" do a great job at being creepy and not once was I reminded of an elf when Tyler was on screen. |

Be Kind Rewind (2008, PG-13)
A cool movie that all amatuer filmakers will love. You'll get the creativity. You'll get the passion involved when making your own film. You'll get the characters. Everyone else might not get the humor, because their isn't as much as I thought would be. Instead I got a very cool inspirational story that throws in some laughs, curtosy of Black and Def. Acting is great by everybody and thankfully Black isn't his usual loud, rockstar self, but a bit more nerdy and subdued. Def is his same old stiff self who looks like he's accidently there, but it's what makes him watchable and laughable. Glover also gives a great funny performance. The story wavers on believeablity in a couple places but otherwise holds up. The most fun scene is the remaking montage. It's cool to recognize a few of your favorite films and how they brilliantly remake them. So far warning, that this movie isn't full of laughs, but when it's time to laugh you really do because the timing is perfect. So you won't just laugh, but also be inspired. |

Sunshine (2007, R)
A wondeful film that surpasses Boyle's 28 Days movies. Acting is superb by all and for these kind of movies a flawless performance is a must or you loose all serious and respect from the audience. Story is great and well written with good character drama and great subtle twists that you might not pick up till the end of the film. The end result you kind of see coming, but as for who lives and who dies there are some good surprises there. Special effects are great and having everything baithed in light during most of film it's would be hard work to do convincingly, but they pulled it off. Very well done and my only regret is I missed out on seeing this one on the big screen. So if you wake up one morning and it's a particularly beautiful day, you'll probably think of this movie. |

Freddy vs. Jason (2003, R)
What a movie. Stupid, yet fun to watch. What saved this movie was the acting I think. As usual a great performance by Englund as the maniacal Freddy, also a great scared performance out of Issbella. Very convincing and you actually care for her, unlike most slasher victims. Kudos to Marquette for perfecting the loveable nerd/hero. The acting never really falters, but the effects do I'm afraid. The blood is terrible. Whenever there is a large quanity (i.e. on the walls, the floor) it looks CGIed and any other time much to thick. Also a couple shots where you can tell someone doesn't get stabbed, but they die anyway. Jason catches on fire and you can tell he's bulked up on fire proof clothing. Also I couldn't help but see a resemblance between the two drug/party throwers and Jay and Silent Bob. I mean it's a fat guy and a long haired skinny druggy in a wool cap. The "epic battle between to terror titans" is disappointing at best and doesn't happen till the last lap of the film. Even so, for some reason this film is just down right entertaining. You watch it and you can't help but grin, laugh, and wince at what's going on on screen. Also THANK YOU for one of THE coolest ways to end a film. The last shot before the credits role is awesome and seal the deal that this film is enjoyable. Not a whole lot for horror fans, but I find it a satisfying combination of the franchises and worth watchiong late at night or with a bunch of friends for a movie night. |

Dragonheart (1996, PG-13)
One of my favorites. Great story, with a cool twist on the medevil/dragon tale. Begins good and ends very satisfactory. It throws in action, characters, and a fine mix of humor to be perfect. Acting is superb! Connery is the perfect choice as the voice of Draco and brings the character to life and gives him personality.Thewlis is also a very believable villian and has an edge of creepiness that makes the character perfect. Quiad, even though his accent is sometimes very heavy, still gives a great and believable performance. Postlethwaite is downright hilarious, but also gives a strong performance at more serious moments as the monk and shines whenever on screen. Meyer also gives a good show as one of her first roles, standing up against some of these seasoned actors. Special effects, though great for there time, don't stand as well these days like JURASSIC PARL does. There are some bad spots, but thankfully they aren't on screen for long. The film moves a tad slow if you've seen it a few times, but first time viewers won't be too bored. |

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007, R)
Johnny Depp sure can sing! Well...so can the entire cast. The music is probably the best feature the film has, and be sure to listen closely because some of the funniest bits are in the song lyrics. The songs aren't like your typical musical though, because you really can't sing a long with any of them. Still their fun to listen to. |

Doom (2005, R)
A video game based movie that was surprisingly fun to watch. If you like guns, explosions, and alien monsters killing people left and right. It's a funy story with good characters most of the time, but they all give good performances. The story is pretty basic, but includes some good character drama. There are some good twists and character developements, made strong by good acting all around. The only thing I didn't like was when they go into first person mode towards the end of the movie. It's cool, but halfway through it starts to get old. There are a couple of good scares, but in the end it's all about the guns. For a movie based on a video game it's just a fun, mindless violence movie. |

Stay Alive (2006, PG-13)
An amazing storyline that leads up to a slightly disappointing ending. The ending just didn't have that right feel to it. Everything else about the film is brilliant! The story, though the plot seems like a rip off at first, is very imaginative and nicely paced. The characters are well written and it's hard to tell who will go next. Don't expect a frighting film though because this film isn't all that scary. A few surprises yes, but major scares, no. Still the story is entertaining so it doesn't reall need the scares at all to move the film along. Acting was done very fell, Jimmi Simpson and Franki Muniz shine in their roles. Effects look like those from a video game cutscene which makes them all the better for this movie. See this movie with any video game junkies you know and they'll love it. |

The Rundown (Welcome to the Jungle) (2003, PG-13)
Okay let me give you "the rundown" on this movie. IT IS AWESOME! There is nothing fantastic about the story or acting but it provides good entertainment! It's both humorous and a great action flick. There are a few moments that are cimeatic gold! The whole movie is very well shot and moves along well without being slow inbetween the action sequences. The Rock proves to be a decent actor and Walken gives another golden performance. So I'll leave you with two options. Option B is you never see this movie and spend your life wishing you had. Or optiopn A. You watch it and be entertained for fun filled, explosive two hours. Your call. |

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984, PG)
Idianna Jones is back! No nazis here though as he fights these weird guys and bugs. Really BIG bugs. The story is pretty basic and not nearly as well done as the first, but still provides entertainment. The acting is done well, especially the comestry between QWuan and Ford. They play very well off each other and it shows. Special effects are okay for it's time, but not enough of them to cause any annoyance. All and all a nice action flick with all the right ingrediants. Give or take the monkey brains. |

Unbreakable (2000, PG-13)
Before SIXTH SENSE and SIGNS, there was Unbreakable. And even then we should have known a master was on his way. Shymalan's films are set to entertain, have you in suspense, and leave you thinking at the end of it all. This film is no differant. The acting is solid, with both Jackson and Willis giving very good performances. The story is slightly differant then what your used to from Shymalan, but that made it all the better. The end half of the movie makes up for a slightly slow beginning. Any Shymalan fan and anyone who doesn't even know who he is, should check this movie out. |

WALL-E (2008, G)
Great, amazing movie! Probably the best I've seen all year and tops the list of my favorite Disney/Pixar movie! It just as so much heart and character. They actually were able to give a robot personality and Wall-E is an amazing accomplishment in animation and sound effects. Ben Burtt did a fantastic job giving voice to the characters whether vocally as in Wall-E's case or the various sounds they make as machines. The story was great and the message was was almost always on the edge of screaming at you in the face but it was a lot more cleverly done and a better delivery then when Happy Feet tried it. The animation is amazing! It looked almost real at times and continues to do so through the rest of the movie. I love this movie and Wall-E should go on the list of the greatest, if not cutest, movie characters of all time. |

The X-Files: I Want to Believe (The X Files 2) (2008, PG-13)
ehh...so yeah. Not really "action packed", "a thrill a minute", or even a "scarefest". Mostly what it did was answer the one question that everyone but me seemed to care about. What happened relationship wise with Mulder and Scully. Have no fear they answered that question. And basically it plays like a long episode which makes the film not half bad. A little long but nothing an X-Phile wouldn't mind watching. But being like show doesn't mean it really follows. I mean in the last episode the government was chasing them in missle filled black helicopters and now their all forgive and forget? I don't buy it. Still they had to come out of hiding somehow. |

The Dark Knight (2008, PG-13)
Completely blew me away! Few movies have ever had me hooked from the first 5 minutes into it, but I was sold almost immediately. |

Miracle (2004, PG)
One of few sports movies that has any re-watchability. A beautifully done and a very inspiring film with a great cast. Russel leads the way and does a great job at it. The various players also give good performances with Cahill, Demsey, and Mantenuto giving good, strong, performances. I don't know how well the story follows the actual evens but it plays out well and moves at a good entertaining speed. Worth watching the first time and multiple times thereafter. One of my favorite sports movies. |

Tropic Thunder (2008, R)
Great movie and Tom Cruise has earned more respect from me. It's not something that will keep you laughing from start to finish, but it will keep a smile on your face from beginning to end. It's a got a great story and adds something differant to Hollywood while still poking fun at Hollywood itself. Speaking of hollywood it seems that everyone is in this movie. You'll have fun just wondering whose going to pop up next. Great stuff from Black and Downey Jr. was the most hysterical character in the whole movie and gave an amazing performance. Stiller played his same old self to perfection. It works for him in this movie though really. Fantastic movie, I had fun watching it. |

300 (2007, R)
Thankfully this movie wasen't all about the fights and blood, but they actually gave it a story. Great acting by Butler, Wenham, and Headey. The effects are amazing and on the same scale as Lord of the Rings. The story (which has to be very inaccurate) is good, but the way it was filmed is what makes this film worth watching. How it goes from slow motion to fast, the camera goes around the fight capturing every movement, is just amazing. The one thing I didn't like was the tranvestite looking Xerxes. How could you be scared of him? I'd laugh everytime he'd give an order. |

Big Fish (2003, PG-13)
This is one of my favorite of Tim Burton's and one of his best. I love the story and feel of the film! It's full of Burton's strangeness, but it doesn't overshadow, darken, or depress the film at all. Its very well acted by all, except a few one liner characters (I'm looking at YOU Miley Cyrus). Finney and McGregor are amazing. They look and seem like the same person throughout the whole film. Buscemi and Devito were also fun to watch. |

Hook (1991, PG)
It's one of my childhood favorites and I'll probably never get tired of it. It can be corny some times yes, but it's still the perfect kids movie and provides an interesting answer to the question, "What would happen if Peter Pan grew up?". |

Hot Fuzz (2007, R)
Much better then Shaun of the Dead and one of my favorite action/comedies. The story is great! And I loved the red herring plot along with the actual reason for the murders. It's a lot more sinister. I also love all the added detail that you don't pick up on till you watch the bonus features on the DVD. It really adds to the movie and the story. Like SOTD the story gets some good detail and doesn't suffer cause of the comedy parts. The jokes are funny even if there are some gaps in between them, but those gaps are filmed with cool gun fights, smart dialogue, and funny "serious" scenes. The acting is great and I love all the cameos that you'll have to watch for. Pegg manages to play a differant character from Shaun, but Frost still had a lot of similarities with Ed. Broadbent was funny and Dalton made a great villain. |

Speed (1994, R)
The most perfect fun action flick you can find. Mix explosions, cool psychotic villian, funny side characters, and simple yet awesome story and you get SPEED. It's one of those movies you can watch on a weekend and feel good afterwards, because your either blown away, or laughingyour head off. The acting is a perfect mix and Reeves fits into his role well, playing off of Bullock, Daniel, and Hopper's characters perfectly. The dialogue has the special mix of humor and action that I love, so even when there is nothing going BOOM, it's still fun to watch and listen to. Special effects are good except for a bad subway minature towards the end. The story is simple, but the underlining plot and mystery are nice and does't stretch your imagination. So, pop quiz hot shots. For a fun, funny, action packed movie that you can enjoy multiple times, what do you pick? |

Jurassic Park (1993, PG-13)
Spielberg's masterpiece! It is probably his best movie and he'll never be able to top. The acting, story, and visual effects are all stunning! Even though the CGI is starting to be effected by the times, the animatronics are still amazing. |

Another one of my childhood favorite Disney classics, even if it's no where near historically acurate. |

Now You See Him, Now You Don't (1972, G)
This one was my favorite as a kid out of the three Medfield College movies, because the special effects just amazed me. Now some of the effects are dated, but more of them still hold up and are just as impressive now. |

1408 (2007, PG-13)
Very few movies manage to make me jump at all, but this one suceeded in getting a few decent scares out of me. It's an amazing, suspenseful film that has that great scary and unnerving feel to it, throughout the whole movie! It turns an ordinary hotel room, that could be anywhere, into the scariest place on earth! I love the little bits with the radio and the window. Some of the little things in the movie turn out to be the scariest and used for the maximum effect. It's proably THE best Stephen King story adaptation though it is obviously longer and has more to it then the short story in EVERYTHING'S EVENTUAL. It beats THE SHINING out of "Best Haunted Hotel Movie" easily in my book. |

Spider-Man 2 (2004, PG-13)
Spider-Man 2 can do better then Spider-Man can. I have to say I love the more personal conflict in this story and the deeper developement of all the characters in this sequel. That doesn't mean that it's cut down on any of the action all superhero movies need, because it has stepped it up a notch here. Special effects are even more amazing here and look very real with only a couple trouble spots here and there. The only thing that really bothered me was when he's in the burning building and grabs the door knob. It would have been scalding hot! Other then that theres nothing really wrong with this movie. The acting is solid, the story moves fast and is well written and I look forward to what the future of the series holds. |

Mallrats (1995, R)
Sometimes I wonder if Smith's Clerks movie over shadow his othe films. I consider this his funniest movie with a better cast. London and Lee just deliver the hilarious monologues better then the CLERKS guys do. Lee gives a star performance here and really does stand as a hero for slackers. The story is pretty simple, but it adds for so much chaos and funny situations that it passes. Plus we get more Jay and Silent Bob without getting overdosed from them. Why some consider this his worst I might never now, but I think he shows his best here and makes me laugh no matter how many times I watch the Easter Bunny get beat up. And that's what gives a comedy it's staying power. |

Star Trek (2009, PG-13)
Quite possibly one of the few PERFECT movies in existence. The movie has the perfect mix of stuff for the old TREK fans and people who know almost nothing about STAR TREK at all, so everyone is able to enjoy it. |

Arachnophobia (1990, PG-13)
This movie is great! It will freak out anyone who is scared of spiders and will keep you in suspense till the end. It's a great thriller that has an awesome cast and good story. |

Alien Resurrection (1997, R)
This movie still stands as one of my favorite movies and as THE best Alien movie! |

Reservoir Dogs (1992, R)
Even though INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS holds the top spot in my favorite Tarantino movie list, this came VERY close to dethroning it. |

Not Another Teen Movie (2001, R)
A genius spoof movie that hits the mark evey time. It pokes fun at a genre that needed to be laughed at, but still have some respect for some of the great movies they're making fun of. |

Scream 2 (1997, R)
Just as much fun as the first with a great story and the same tongue in cheek humor that made the first so enjoyable. |
