The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus - PG-13 Beautifully imaginative and amazingly unique, Gilliam has one of the most creative minds in film making. Ledgers performance was enchanting and the trio (Depp, Farrell and Law) who become him in the imaginarium gave performances so strong I truly believed they were the same character with a different face. Lily Cole gives a stunning performance as Valentina despite her very limited experience and surely has a promising career ahead of her. Lets not forget Christopher Plummer who held the films together with his eclectic performance as Doctor Parnassus. For a film that suffered so much bad luck, it was worth all the effort of Gilliam and others getting The Imaginarium back on its feet. November 15, 2009

The Duchess - PG-13 Beautifully shot, acted, and with amazing costuming. The Duchess is clearly another example that Keira Knightly was born to do period dramas. The storyline is what really held the film together and kept me glued to the screen, it's just a shame that it was so heartbreaking. November 14, 2009

Kaidan - Unrated Interesting Japanese ghost story that seems to wane at times. The setting was stunning and the costuming really gave the feel of ancient Japan but it just didn't seem to have the impact one might expect. November 12, 2009

Rinne (Reincarnation) - R Definitely a love or hate it type of film. Takashi Shimizus direction is beautiful and the acting is superb. It has some intensely creepy moments as well as quite a few J-horror cliches. But many will feel it has something missing or that much of the plot is never explained. Personally I found it intriguing and liked the fact that it left alot of guessing to the viewer. November 11, 2009

The Reader - R The Reader was a novel I didn't enjoy and I feel like many of its weak aspects carry over into the film. While it is an interesting look into German guilt I feel that it lacks the strong impact that one would expect. What it does show us is that normal people are capable of doing really bad things. Although this is portrayed in a manner almost stating that it isn't entirely their fault. Kate Winslet was perfect in a role which couldn't have been easy and she was equally matched by David Kross. Although I think enough wasn't done to improve the one sided story from the book. October 24, 2009
