It?s an interesting approach to the alien theory with this movie being shot like a documentary. All performances are great with Mila jovovich being on fine form here. The movie is shot with real (you decide on this) stock footage and video interviews from the main person that mil...( read more)

If The Fourth Kind supposed to make you believe in aliens or, at least, make you re-evaluate your beliefs, let me tell you: it probably won't. Even though it's being marketed as "based on the actual case studies," the movie ends up feeling more phony than anything concocted in f...( read more)

Though there are some good scares, the pseudo-documentary style just didn't work for me. At all.

Wow. This movie was just... Let's put it this way: I'm glad I saw this for free via screener passes.
The big deal with "The Fourth Kind" is that it's supposed to be a documentary, but not, but a horror, but not. It's real, but not, with enhanced scenes, but they're not really en...( read more) -

I really enjoyed this. Who cares if it's all a hoax. What happened to entertainment people?!! Since when do we expect Hollywood to only produce films that are 100% real and true? We don't, it's called entertainment.
I've never given much thought to aliens but after seein...( read more) -

Critic Reviews
The movie begins with what is probably the most laughable opening scene of the year. full review
Ultimately, the film's narrative segments are far too glossy and over-stylized, larded with ponderous scoring, obvious melodrama and split-screen visuals that offset the "reenactments" with the "real." full review
The Fourth Kind has a clever gimmick and nothing more. full review
Mr. Osunsanmi's chutzpah exceeds his skill. full review
You don't have to believe in far-fetched tales of mysterious beams of light and alien abductions to get caught up in The Fourth Kind. full review
A mildly scary, totally meaningless excursion into the realms of psychological horror and alien-abduction conspiracies. full review
Why the aliens chose this community of 9,261 to abduct so many people is a mystery. Also why owls stare into bedroom windows. full review

November 4, 2009the fourth kind is hands-down the best sci-fi horror film of the year. this movie was truly incredible. it was disturbing on so many levels. the scenes were freaky and downright bizarre, and definitely did its job in sending chills down my spine. if you're up for suspense or getting freaked out, then this movie is for you.

November 3, 2009Saw this movie recently, and it was so freaky! The movie had a lot of scary scenes that kept me on the edge of my seat... I really liked how it incorporated split-screen footage which used both raw and recreated scenes. Milla Jovovich was fabulous, too. I thought she did an excellent job channeling her character. Overall, I give this movie a 5 star rating. It was one of the creepiest movies I've seen all year. Definitely worth checking out!

November 1, 2009This is an excellent thriller, suspense and eerie. Thought provoking and challenges you to think critically. I haven't been scared watching a film since I was 8 and saw "The Exorcist" for the first time and keep in mind that my family was devoted Catholics.
Of course I wasn't as traumatized now, but I can tell you that its the only film that has had that effect on me now that I'm an independent thinker.
People who say Paranormal Activity is the scariest movie of the year have to see this one and will change their minds. Given that P.A has an effect on you ONLY if you believe in demon possession and that kind of "paranormal" otherwise it will have zero effect.
As to this film no matter if you are an atheist which I am btw and a extremely skeptical person YOU WILL be challenged. It's one of those films that will leave you bamboozle. Go see it when it comes out this friday:)
