I'll be honest I cant remember the first very much but I did quite like this. The cast is very good for just a silly film, Jon Voight, Ed Harris, Harvey Keitel, Cage impressive. The film is really a kind of filler for the absence of Indy 4 or any Indy films really, and lets be ho...( read more)

Again I watched this and liked it, funny, interesting, adventurous, cunning and not too much of an information overload. The kids will enjoy but expect lots of questions about science and history afterwards.

OH. MY. GOD. C'est comme ... WOW !

I couldn't possibly say why but I really enjoyed this movie a lot more than the last. Perhaps it was my lowered expectations, or maybe it was just that the cast were obviously having so much fun that it rubbed off on me. Pretty much the same as the last film but with more focus o...( read more)

about the same quality as the first but with a few points of annoyance here and there. i don't like the marital troubles subplot. also, this film seemed to steal bits from other movies. ed harris i thought was an unsatisfying adversary. last and least, during a car chase there is...( read more)

action packed treasure hunt sequel that is actually better than the first movie

reasonable movie, although it lacks in the thrill department, and therefore bores at moments. Jon Voight, Ed Harris and Helen Mirren provide a bit of class to this movie though.
Critic Reviews
Even though it's wildly unbelievable and rather hokey at times, this is total entertainment from start to finish. full review
This sequel is what you would expect: If you liked the original, you'll probably enjoy this retread. But be warned: It bogs down in a drawn-out scene near the end. full review
It's another flick about maps, landmarks and buried treasure that makes The Da Vinci Code look like Tolstoy. full review
The film is baffling -- the scheme that links the conspirators throughout three centuries would flummox the Illuminati -- but as a sort of vacation scrapbook of the lovely places where the cast spent ... full review
As long as it's galloping along, the movie's perfectly good popcorn -- in itself a rarity these days -- but eventually you get down to the burnt kernels at the bottom of the bag. full review
This is Nicolas CAGE. Remember when I used to make quiet movies for smart people? Things have CHANGED. Now I make LOUD movies for IDIOTS. full review
This is a Mouth Agape Movie, during which your mouth hangs open in astonishment at one preposterous event after another. full review

July 9, 2008I loved this movie!! It is my favorite movie. I can't wait until watching The Nation Treasure:2 Book of Secrets. The National Treasure: Book of Secrets was a trilling movie filled with humor and action. The looking of clues was very mysterious which I really liked. Two thumps up for this movie!!!!

January 21, 2008Absolutely brilliant - I loved it! As good as, if not better, than the first! Who cares if the plots are realistic or not - the ideas (the twin desks and the combination) are very clever and it keeps you entertained the whole movie. Can't wait for the next one!
