It is nothing close to "Das Boot" but close enough for cigar.

Catch-22 (1970,  R)

Apocalypse Now (1979,  R)
Apocalypse Now
Well underestimated, 25 years after premiering in theaters, finally the critics agreed this is a film for history. After Godfather, this is Coppola's best!

Jarhead (2005,  R)
Jarhead
Kubrick does better in "Full Metal Jacket" but considering its an entirely different scenario "Jarhead" grasp the middle east arena very well.

Black Hawk Down (2001,  R)

Slaughterhouse Five (1972,  R)
Slaughterhouse Five
A really good flick! Well edited, has a nice pace to it. A voyage into the human spirit. The dimension of time becomes plastic, stretching from past to present to future in a delicious game of back and forth. Great movie for Monday night,,,LOL Enjoy!

Letters from Iwo Jima (2006,  R)
Letters from Iwo Jima
Clint Eastwood at its best!! Very well developed script. Excellent camera work. It's a movie for the ages!! Enjoy it (make sure you see Flags Of Our Fathers before you see this one)

Flags of Our Fathers (2006,  R)
Flags of Our Fathers
The first installment of two great films (second one is Letters from Iwo Jima). Eastwood does it again!! Two sides of the same event: American version (this one) and the Japanese version (Letters of Iwo Jima) Great flick! Makes me wonder if in the future, both films will be merged into one...? Possibilities are there!
