Very good thriller, with a dash of depth and vengeance to boot. Giovanni Ribisi and Cate Blanchett are superb as usual. Even Keanu Reeves and Katie Holmes manage to find roles that suit their (limited) talents.

Somehow I doubt Ben Affleck had much to do with this classic script...

a fantastic movie ahead of it's time complete with a successful working wife, a couple living together, the "b" word, the "n" word, an absolutely hilarious comic scene, and certainly the best monologue I have ever heard.

Great music, good story, and an awesome ending makes this British cross of Scarface and Pulp Fiction put the overrated Snatch to shame.

While the mystery of whodunit is lost upon reviewing, a better understanding of both the complexities of the characters and the plot is gained. Great movie.

Wonderful film about Alzheimer's, relationships, and life.

Not as good as I remembered - but still highly enjoyable.

Had it kept up the darkness throughout rather than succumb to the cheesy Hollywood ending this would have been an incredible movie. As it stood it was still great. Heath Ledger deserves a posthumous Oscar nod for best actor.

I'm not sure why this film gets bad reviews. I found it to be an intriguing, lavish, and well-acted historical drama.

The first time I watched this movie it took me about halfway through to realize I liked it. the second time I watched it, knowing from the beginning what would happen, I realized I loved it.

this is a great movie. Robin Williams (like Tom Cruise) needs to play the "bad" guy more often.

At first I thought this was Sherlock Holmes meets V for Vendetta but it's more like Sherlock Holmes meets the Matrix devil. This movie was fantastic - great plot, great fight scenes and a great twist.

While this is a classic cult film, with a great plot twist, it is also one of those movies that loses a bit of it's "punch" upon reviewing.

Well before Bridges of Madison Cty there was this excellent movie...a great love story on many levels. When I first saw it, the twist revealed in the middle was shocking and powerful. Not a big Barbra fan, but she does a wonderful directing job here.

I wasn't expecting to like this movie, or anything more than Denzel's normally monochromatic performance, but I was pleasantly surprised by both. Gritty and reminiscent of Scarface, with enough twists in the plot to keep it interesting. The only question I have is...why Dre and Snoop. Why??

Great ensemble of promising young actors. George C Scott was wonderful as well in his limited role. Awesome ending.

Great action movie, good plot, and Liam Neeson kicked some serious scum ass. Better than the Bourne movies even.

excellent Civil War story about wanting to believe something in your heart

This was a really good movie, had a great soundtrack, and the actors had great chemistry. It was weird to hear Hugh Jackman without an accent. I only wish the ending wasn't quite so cheesy.

While I suspected something would happen at the end to completely spin things around, I did not expect what actually did happen; turned a better-than-average movie into a good movie.

For pure poker, watch Rounders. For pure gangster, watch Goodfellas. But if you want to see a good mixing of the two, this is it.

Solid movie from beginning to end. Great cast, story, and directing. Avoids overly preaching and, like any good message movie, let's the characters' own words and actions do the talking.

I loved this movie. Great cast, directing, soundtrack (and use of music), with an original presentation. Sort of a Pulp Fiction meets Fast Times. Which is not surprising as it was adapted and directed by Roger Avary, Quentin Tarantino's credited (and uncredited) partner in many-an-early film.

A very good and powerful film, reminiscent of the Three Colors trilogy. It moves very slowly for much of its length, gradually building in suspense, but the ending brings it all together nicely. It also has one of the steamiest sex scenes I have seen. The haunting remake of Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" at the conclusion is an excellent choice of music as well.

Yes...very realistic

I didn't expect to like this movie as much as I did. It was serious and funny all at the same time. The cast was great - yes, even the young Corey Haim. James Garner continually surprises me. His best-actor nomination was well-deserved.

When I first saw that Drew and Hugh were in a movie together I thought they would be so cute together. When I read reviews they seemed less than glowing. But I loved this movie, and I loved the two of them together. And both of them are actually not bad singers.

overlooked coming-of-age film

It took a awhile for this to become the movie I thought it was going to be. A mix of The Elephant Man, Karate Kid, Hearts in Atlantis, and Dead Poets Society. All-around good acting and a fine directorial debut by Mel Gibson.

How anybody can like the stupidest Coen brothers movies and not like this is beyond me. This movie was funny, witty, dark, Tom Hanks spectacular, Irma Hall adorable, and JK Simmons hilarious.

fantastic cast and story

I'm always amazed at actors who completely transform their bodies for the screen and Emile Hirsch does such a job here. It was interesting to see all the different types of people he came in contact with on his journey and I particularily enjoyed the scene toward the end where we see how everybody's life he touched felt at his not being a part of theirs at that moment. Perhaps a bit slow for many viewers, and certainly depressing at the end, but a solid movie in all aspects and one which I recommend.

I was amazed what a wonderful movie this is, considering it features Cameron Diaz. But I should've known with Toni Collette and Shirley MacLaine being a part of it as well. It covers the whole spectrum of emotions, like any good movie should. And the Rocky allusion...well we know what I think of that. A+
