Horror movies I want to see

MUST SEE IT!

I knew this movie would be brutal. What I did not know was that it would be so effectively disturbing. And I mean this in a good way, even though it might sound weird. I figured before watching that this movie got the "brutal" imprint for just being violent. And even though it is very violent at certain times that is not what made it so disturbing. It's the psychological aspect of it that I found really frightening, mostly because it was so realistically portrayed, much thanks to the kids terrific acting. Shortly, the film was just great.

The first half was okey but the second was just really bad... There is nothing here that you haven't seen before. I won't spend any more time writing a review of it because I've already wasted enough time on this movie.

Looks decent

This was a pleasant surprise. After seeing "Ju-on: The Grudge" which was a little dissapointing in my opinion, my expectation for this earlier "direct-to- video" film was low. The low-budget is noticeable with both the colours and the use of many static camera shots. But mostly this actually makes the movie scarier as it seems more authentic and more home-made like. Speaking of scary, this movie was a lot more thrilling than most of the higher budget asian horrors I've seen. I was also surprised that although this movie is made before the asian horror movie wave burst out (thus expecting the scares to have been copied), most of the scares still stand strong and are unique and effective.

I expected more from the director of Noroi. This movie was surprisingly average. Yet, it was never boring and the cinematography was good.

Another solid horror movie by Kiyoshi Kurosawa. Although not really scary there were lots of eerie moments. There were also some very impressive scenes which were both creepy and beautiful somehow. Highly recommended.

Even from the beginning this movie showed potential, good acting, interesting characters and very nice cinematography. And as strange things started to happen the atmosphere became more and more eerie.
Unfortunately the movie did not manage to keep that same atmosphere until the end where everything all of a sudden felt rushed. But all in all this was a good horror flick.

A very interesting and well made thriller that doesn't seem so unlikely.

Not what I expected. The "end of the world" story is actually just a subplot. More thoughts coming soon...
